Antique MOONSTONE Drop Earrings in Sterling Silver

  

Edwardian MOONSTONE Drop Earrings on Silver Wire. Offered is a lovely, delicate pair of sterling silver moonstone drop earrings. Two lovely moonstone cabochons of 9mm x 5mm are claw-set in silver mounts, suspended on silver wires with a silver ball detail attached to the ear wires just above the suspended moonstone. The moonstones show a beautiful silver adularescence, which flashes as they catch the light, admirably demonstrating why it was given the name with its silvery, moonlight glow, which I have tried to capture in the photographs.

Some of the pictures show them with a bluish flash, of which there is an occasional hint, but the wonderful silvered sheen is the truest representation of their appearance. Please be aware that these earrings appear much larger in the pictures. In reality, they are a delicate pair of drops, like captured moonlight.
