S tandard size This is a straight from stock size, ideal for those who required no cutting size or would happily cut the stone to size themselves on site. Cut to size bespoke Rectangle This option is for those who would like us to cut to a custom/bespoke size in a rectangle or square shape. Cut to size bespoke T Shape - This option is for those who would like us to cut to a custom/bespoke T shape. Please note we will cut in a single piece T shape unless instructed otherwise. Please see below a guide to the various edge options Square edge Is our lowest costing option, this edge gives a very modern and contemporary look, however edge style does leave a sharp top edge and may not be suitable if children or pets will be around the hearth. All four edges of the hearth will be sawn. Bevelled/Chamfered edge - Similar style to the square edge as described above but this option is a little more child and pet friendly as the top edge is sanded to give a 5mm bevelled finish. With this option the longest front edge and 2 side edges will be bevelled, the other side (back edge) will be a Square Edge. Half Bullnosed edge This process gives an incredibly smooth rounded appearance. Handressed/chiselled edge Available in limited sizes only (120cm x 60cm maximum) and available in certain stone types only (Sandstone and Limestone). This edge type gives a very natural look and is added to the stone within the quarry itself once we receive the stone, we cannot replicate the dressed style. Therefore, if you select this option but required the stone to be cut to size it may mean that only the front edge remains dressed and the other edges would be sawn square. This product has a natural riven surface, it has not been honed or polished. We pre-treat this product with an oil-based sealer before we dispatch it. This offers instant protection against staining or scratching and will also help make regular cleaning easier.
We normally use a colour enhancing sealer that will give the material a matt finish and darken the stone slightly as we feel aesthetically this is the best product for the hearth however we can offer an invisible sealer on request or if preferable we can leave the stone untreated. If you have selected a custom/bespoke cut to size hearth, please forward us your dimensions, a sketch/diagram of your requirements is extremely helpful, we request that all dimensions are in either CM or MM and not FT or INCHES. If you have selected a standard stock size no dimension confirmation is needed. Although we have no installation experience, we strongly advise that you allow for stone expansion when sending us your dimensions.Stone can expand and retract when exposed to intense high or low changes in temperature, therefore allowing 5mm 10mm expansion gap for any point where the hearth meets a solid wall will massively reduce the risk off cracking when hot. The mentioned expansion gap should then be filled with a flexible product i. Heat proof silicone or mastic in a similar colour as the stone ordered as to make it unnoticeable, please do not fill with a cement-based product.
If so, please let us know and we will aim for it to arrive on the requested day. Please note we can only offer arrivals on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. If you would like to confirm your mobile number that would be extremely helpful. Lastly any specific requirements for your order, for example that you would like a very naturally looking hearth with plenty of riven markings or a piece of stone that is smooth as possible or that you want a 2 piece T shape rather than a single piece.
Please appreciate that if no instruction is given then the stone for your order will be selected at random from our stock and will be cut in a single piece. Also, worth noting in some instances we may use an epoxy stone filler and/or sand smooth part of the stone surface where we feel the appearance of the stone will benefit from such an application, additionally although we try to be as accurate as possible when cutting to your given dimension, we do allow as 5mm tolerance before we deem the cut to be unacceptable. Thanks for taking the time to read this listing.

We aspire for our materials to be the industry standard when it comes to the vibrant colour. We also use the latest visual paving technologies for our web site. This results in high quality, easy, fast and impressive user experience for our customers. On average our yard contains over 15,000 sqm of stock at any one time.
The saying you get what you pay for is very applicable when it comes to purchasing natural stone material, in our years of experience when a price from other suppliers seems too good to be true there will usually be a catch somewhere and that catch is usually one or more of the below: We have all our goods brought back to our Peterborough Yard, where we can check all our goods before removing any damages, a lot of supplies now operate from a port warehouse to save the costs for delivering to their yards. Although this reduces the overall cost of the material it then leaves the stock to be loaded by third parties who have no experience in stone quality and who will NOT remove damages slabs before dispatch. Damages must then be reported to us within 24hrs with imagery included please.Upon notification we will begin to process a replacement. Please do not book any tradesmen until the product physically arrives. If you choose to book a contractor before arrival of the goods, we are not responsible for consequential loss of earnings. A 7.5t vehicle can be requested if you feel access may be tight. The courier operates with tail-lift and manual pump truck service and will only.
A kerbside drop or a drop to the nearest access point on a hard surface. If you have a driveway that the goods can be left on or that you wish for the lorry to drive onto this is purely an agreement between yourself and the Haulier and is not part of contract between Primethorpe Paving Ltd and yourself. Subsequently and If your property has loose gravel chippings, soft, uneven ground or an incline/decline present, the pump truck will be unable to pass it and the product will be left at the nearest suitable area. At the drivers discretion they may move the goods on to a driveway or front garden but. Deliveries can be made between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm.
On all deliveries, where an accurate mobile number has been provided, we will request that the courier sends you a text message when the goods leave the depot and further text when the driver has an estimated arrival time (a 2 hour window), finally we request the driver gives you a call when they are 30mins away. We may need to pass this increase on to you, but will not accept your order unless you are aware of the price increase and are willing to pay it. We aim to keep sufficient stock levels on hand. However, in times of unexpectedly high demand we may unfortunately run out.If this happens we may delay dispatch of your order while new stock is delivered. We are constantly updating our product prices. We are confident of our technology and staff but acknowledge that human error is always possible. If goods are offered for sale incorrectly we will always try to honour our offer.
There may be rare circumstances where it is not possible for us to do so.
