Helping you to CREATE BEAUTIFUL GARDENS. Resin Drive Way Kit from Talasey.

Our natural aggregates have been specially dried and are ready to use in pre measured bags. The Resiscape range offers 6 standard universal colours to suit any project. If you are looking for something a little different, just let us know, as other colour options are available to special order. Each Resiscape kit will cover a maximum of 4m2 at 15mm depth. This is based on laying on a smooth surface and does not take into account surface texture or wastage. For heavy traffic areas a thicker layer of the product is required to ensure the integrity of the system, we recommend a minimum thickness of 15mm. It should be laid at least 3 times the depth of the largest piece of aggregate. 3 x 25kg Bags of 2-5mm Aggregate 1 x 12.5kg Bag of 1-3mm Aggregate 1 x 6.25kg Bag of C50 Sand 1 x Tub of Part A Resin 1 x Tub of Part B Resin.

Please note, the Dorset Gold Aggregate is 1-2mm. Please note the swatches are shown wet and all weights are nominal, with a tolerance of +/- 5%. Preparing your surface There are a few suitable bases that the Resiscape system can be applied to, including. Tarmac Tarmac is the perfect base for the Resiscape system as it can be laid directly onto the surface.

If the tarmac surface is new, the system can be laid once the tarmac has cured as long as the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, oil or grease. Concrete An alternative to Tarmac, concrete also works well with the Resiscape system. If working with a concrete base, we advise that the concrete is primed with the Resiscape Primer before the Resiscape system is installed. If expansion joints are present this joint must continue through to the Resiscape surface. Dividing strips are available on the market for a more aesthetically pleasing finish. Crushed Rock An adequately compacted crushed rock base is suitable for areas that experience no pedestrian or vehicular traffic, such as tree surrounds. Please note that if cracks are present on the sub-base a new one should be laid. If Resiscape is installed onto a cracked surface reflecting cracking in the finished installation could occur. Health & Safety Ensure when preparing and installing Resiscape that full H&S procedures are adhered to. A full risk assessment of the project should be carried out before any work begins. Ensure you wear appropriate PPE including gloves and eye protection, especially when working with chemicals. Preparing your area Before laying the aggregate system the surface must be dry, weed and algae free.

The stone and surface temperature should be at least 3 degrees above dew point. To calculate the dew point please refer to the chart below.

If using the Resiscape Primer, please follow the instructions on the back of the tin. You will need: 100ltr capacity forced action mixer as this is required to thoroughly mix the aggregate and resin together. A plasterers paddle and drill for mixing both resin parts together Resiscape Spirit Cleaner & application tool.

This is used to create the final finish and maintain the cleanliness of the tools throughout the installation. A wheelbarrow, trowel and tamping/levelling bars.

It is not always possible for the aggregates to come from the same batch, therefor blending is always advised to reduce the risk of any colour batching. Mixing the aggregate and resin. Open the Part A bucket and add the Resiscape accelerator if required, mixing well.

Take the Part B tub and pour the full contents into the Part A bucket. (Any tub opened should be used immediately with the full contents being scraped out). Paddle mix together for about 30 seconds until a consistent colour is achieved. Empty all 4 bags of aggregate into the mixer and allow to dry mix for 30 seconds. Pour the resin into the already mixing aggregates and allow to coat for 30 seconds before then adding the C50 sand.

Once the sand has been added, the mixer needs to continue blending for a further 40-60 seconds, until all of the aggregates are glazed. All batches need to be mixed for the same amount of time (No more than 2 minutes) to avoid any colour batching between mixes. Mixing for prolonged periods will create abrasion between the aggregates, potentially changing the appearance. Once you have finished mixing, release the resin/aggregate mixture into the wheelbarrow or carrying device.

Note that once you are in a routine of laying the aggregate, and the mixes are coming quite often, the mixture will start to set. Depending on the air temperature you have on average 20-30 minutes to work with each mix. (In warmer months, timings can reduce to 10 minutes). Laying the resin bound aggregates. Tip the Resiscape out onto the existing sub-base.

With a trowel, spread the material out so it is easier to work with We advise starting at one end and working your way towards the other For lighter trafficked areas lay the mixture to a minimum of 15mm thickness. We recommend wiping your trowel with Resiscape Spirit Cleaner to stop any mixture sticking and continue to do this regularly through laying. This will make installation much easier.

Begin to trowel and tamper the mixture down until you get a nice flat surface Leave the open end of the wet aggregate mix mounded up. The next batch can then be slightly overlapped into the previous mix.

For a very even finish, apply the Resiscape Spirit Cleaner to the trowel and smooth over the surface. Repeat the same process throughout the entire installation. We recommend cleaning the mixer and tools with Resiscape Spirit Cleaner in-between each batch. Depending on thickness laid and the environmental conditions, the surface should be fully cured 24 hours after installation. In cooler temperatures the surface may take longer to fully cure. Check the surface isnt soft or tacky before walking upon it. Definition: Dew point is the temperature at which condensation forms. To determine the Dew Point from the charts below, find the temperature of the air in question on the left side of the table. Next, locate the relative humidity of the air in question across the top of the table. The intersection of these two numbers in the matrix identifies the temperature at which Dew Point is reached. Air Temperature in Degrees Celsius Example: Read the air temperature in the left-hand column and the humidity at the top of the chart. If the air temperature of the site is 24ºC and the relative humidity is 35%, the intersection of the two shows the dew point of the area to be 7ºC. The surface temperature should be at least 3 degrees above that point, i. 10ºC or above, to prevent water condensing on the road surface.
